A Haven for Hatchlings
Baja is a safe haven for many different species, including five different types of sea turtles, all of which are endangered. While thousands of turtles return to the coast of their birth every year to lay their own eggs, few hatchlings survive.
Luckily, there are several nonprofits in the area dedicated to protecting turtle eggs and nests. You can support their efforts and make your own small, hands-on contribution by taking a tour of the nesting area and then participating in turtle release efforts.
All tours are led by marine biologists that work for an established, nonprofit conservation projects. Learn more about their efforts and make reserve your place on a rescue mission here.
