A Citywide Adventure
NYC doesn’t lack opportunities for urban explorations. But behind the city’s looming facades and gated structures is another part of the city, largely off limits, and rarely open to the public.
Open House Weekend offers the chance to explore some of these hidden spaces. Once a year, buildings such as the Masonic Grand Lodge and Appellate Division Court invite you to pass the vigilant doormen and explore the stunning interiors.
Perhaps you’ve always wanted to see inside industrial structures like the Brooklyn Navy Yard, or you’re curious to visit the house of Edgar Allan Poe. The five boroughs contain a wealth of unique structures such as these and invite you to discover the stories locked within them.
Some sites require reservations so do plan ahead—you can see the full list of participating sites and open hours here.
