All the Culture
Nashville offers a wealth of art and culture throughout the year, but you might consider Artober a month-long homage to this talent. Now in its 11th iteration, this year’s celebration is organized around the theme of “purpose,” the name of a 2017 painting by Nashville artist Beth Inglish, which serves as the official backdrop for this year’s festival.
Shows, exhibitions, and performances run all month with some particularly notable performances at TPAC, the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. There you’ll glimpse the touring version of the Olivier Award–winning comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong (currently the longest-running show on Broadway), which fills the stage for five nights from October 9th to 14th. Other performances include A Doll’s House Part II and La Traviata.
As always in Music City, music abounds. Concerts this month include Florence + the Machine, Childish Gambino, and Elton John at Bridgestone Arena.
