So Many Beautiful Views

Cheekwood Gardens is the perfect place to admire the annual changing of the leaves. A 55-acre estate with miles of paved and mulched trails, it’s one of the few places in Nashville with uninterrupted views of nature.

It’s also one of the best places to enjoy art in the city. Right now, you can enjoy site-specific installations by Mexico City-based artist Gabriel Dawe. His textile works are spread throughout the estate and create beautiful prisms of light. The Carell Woodland Trail sets site-specific works and sculpture against the backdrop of nature. A major highlight is Glass Bridge by Sian Armajani, whose first retrospective is currently on view at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.

As the seasons change, so do the exhibitions. Although the leaves might disappear, the gardens are a lovely place to visit in December and admire the festive lights.
