So. Much. Stand-up.
New York is the home of comedy and November is the best time of year to get a fix. This year, for the fifteenth iteration of the New York Comedy Festival, 200 comedians will play more than 100 shows over seven days.
Big names like Tracy Morgan, Conan O’Brien, and Jimmy Carr are on the roster, but we’re particularly excited to spend an evening with Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski and Jonathan Van Ness. It’s difficult to choose between so much hilarious talent, but if you want our advice: skip Caroline’s Comedy Club in Times Square, which is more of a tourist hub than a comedy club. Smaller venues like Joe’s Pub, The Fat Black Pussy Cat, and Arlene’s Grocery put on consistently good shows—and draw great crowds, which only add to the fun. Of the big-name venues, UCB Theatre and Comedy Cellar have earned their stripes.
The New York Comedy Festival runs November 5th–11th all over the city.
