The Award for Sunniest Film Festival Goes to…

Cannes isn’t the only oceanside film festival to keep on the radar: since its inception in 2012, the Los Cabos International Film Festival has drawn some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Guests of honor this year include Adam Driver, Spike Lee, and Terry Gilliam. Nicole Kidman, a firm friend of the festival, was honored with the award for “Outstanding Work in Cinema” last year. Don’t be surprised to see her this year at the screening of Karyn Kusama’s new feature, Destroyer, which stars a transformed Kidman in the leading role.

Unique highlights of the festival include The Competencia Los Cabos program, which focuses on ambitious, auteur-driven film. In supporting the festival, you will also be supporting independent film in Mexico and the USA—each year, the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund supports filmmakers with funds for distribution.

The festival runs November 8th–12th at various locations and details can be found here.
