Lighting the Dark
Just when winter nights were beginning to feel very long and dark indeed, Toronto Light Fest returns to the distillery district. From the organizers of the city’s epic Christmas market, the festival transforms this picturesque neighborhood into a gorgeous open-air gallery. Set within the largest group of Victorian buildings in North America, the historic location is as much a part of the adventure as the art itself.
Artists on display here include Davis McCarthy, whose work is featured in Chicago’s public art collection and has been installed and exhibited at iconic buildings and festivals around the world. Alongside his prismatic light sculptures, you’ll see work by Canadian and international artists inspired by mathematics, nature, and the human form.
Toronto Light Fest runs January 18th–March 3rd, from sundown to 10pm, and later on weekends.
