Real Deal BBQ
Peg Leg Porker is as authentic a BBQ joint as you can find, with meats smoked daily, sauce and sides made from scratch, and all ingredients sourced from the local area. The family-owned restaurant even serves their own Double Gold Medal 12-year bourbon!
Although Pork Leg Parker is best-known for their dry-rub ribs, you can’t go wrong with anything on their short and simple menu. The meat falls off the bone, they serve fried pies for dessert, and they brine their pickles in Kool-Aid. Prepare to get your fingers dirty and leave feeling very satisfied. Don’t just take our word for it—pitmaster Carey Bringle was invited to grill at the prestigious James Beard House not once, but twice.
Enjoy your food with a bucket of beer on the patio, or in the simple-but-soulful interior. You might want a nap afterwards, and luckily the hotel is a five-minute walk away.
