Icebreaking Public Art
If you need an excuse to brave the waterfront on these cold winter days, we’ve got one for you. From January 19th to February 24th, you can enjoy a temporary public art installation along Queens Quay West.
Ice Breakers showcases the results of an international design competition. The large-scale works on display are interactive, meaning they’re good fun as well as a great photo op. Each work is distinctive, and you can expect to see spectral columns of light and glass, kaleidoscopic sculptures, and works incorporating sound. If you’re in town January 19th, try and make it down to the opening-day celebrations, which include guided tours of the installations and a hot drink bar.
