A Groovy Festival
Plaza del Pescador is always worth a visit for shopping, dining, and nightlife, but if you head over there on February 15th and 16th, you’re in for an extra treat. Now in its 7th iteration, the San Jose Jazz Weekend is the biggest event held at Pescador, and last year welcomed over 5,000 people.
Some of the country’s best musicians fly in for the festival, representing a wide range of jazz styles, including bossa nova and funk. The two-day festival is headlined by classically-trained Mario Patrón on Saturday, who’ll be joined by his band and playing jazz fusion. On Sunday night, local band Vera will have you grooving late into the night with their signature brand of Afrofunk. Entertainment begins at 5:30pm, with the susurrus of the waves playing all night long.
