Time to Celebrate
It’s not often you get to celebrate a city’s birthday but on March 9th, Toronto marks its 185th anniversary with a two-day celebration in Nathan Philips Square. A whole host of food trucks, makers, and performers will Celebrate Toronto, along with official city mascot, Remi the Raccoon.
Aside from the festivities, this is a great opportunity to pick up a souvenir that truly represents the city. Toronto’s favorite artists and artisans will have booths in the square, including painter Alex Pyro, leather goods store Leather Treaty, and luxe aromatherapy candle-makers Crafted Bliss.
The skating rink is open all day, but the evening promises a skate party with DJ Sean Caff, who’ll be playing a mix of funk and Motown. When you’re hungry, the city’s favorite food trucks will be waiting: The Cati Roll Express, Beavertails pastries, and tater-tot makers Get Your Own Taters will all be in attendance.
