Moisture Festival is a kaleidoscopic celebration of the many circus and burlesque acts Seattle has fostered over the years. A month-long event starting on March 14th, this is a chance to enjoy the lost art of “varieté,” high-energy shows performed by acrobats, jugglists, aerialists, comedians, and magicians. With roots in cabaret and Vaudeville, this is the largest festival of its type.
And with more than 100 acts and 200 shows, you’re unlikely to see the same thing twice. It’s the only place you might catch someone juggle furniture in a room filled with soap bubbles, or a contortionist shooting a bow and arrow with her feet. On the roster are rope acts, tap dancers, acrobats, and magicians. In the evening, there are burlesque shows from some of the most celebrated artists of their kind, including honorees from the Miss Exotic World Pageant.
