The Country’s Best Food Hall?

Aster Hall is the answer to a thought experiment: what if an award-winning design firm teamed up with a nationally-acclaimed restaurant group to build the country’s most upscale food hall?

Inspired by the legendary food halls of London, Aster Hall brings 16 of Chicago’s favorite eateries together under one very stylish roof. A 22,000-square-foot space occupying the fifth and sixth floors of 900 Michigan Avenue, Aster Hall boasts a miniature jungle of potted plants, a whole host of luxurious materials, and a serene color palette. It’s the type of place that might inspire you to redecorate.

Then there’s the food: standouts include Small Cheval, a spinoff of Au Cheval, which serves what’s often cited as the country’s best burger, and Donut Vault, whose original outlet often has a line around the block.

Whatever your heart desires for lunch, you’ll probably find it. Rotisserie chicken, ramen, sushi bowls, lobster rolls, and brisket are all on offer, with macarons for afters. Thompson is a stone’s-throw away, meaning you can take a well-earned nap when you’re finished. The hall is open all day from 11am to 8pm.
