Pop Art in Cabo
It’s not so often in our everyday lives that we get to fully relax and enjoy the arts. Luckily, if you’re on vacation in Cabo, you have some world-class art on your doorstep.
A stalwart of Cabo arts’ scene since opening its doors in 2005, Galeria Corsica is equally established throughout Mexico. With offices in Mexico City and outposts in Puerto Vallarta and Punta Mita, the gallery connects some of Mexico’s top artistic talent with collectors and art aficionados across the country. This month, the gallery hosts The World Through Her Eyes, the latest solo exhibition from celebrated pop artist Karla de Lara.
With more than 230 solo exhibitions under her belt, having exhibited in 36 countries, de Lara has been described by critics as “the mother of hyperrealistic pop art.” To this effect, she’s been commissioned to paint portraits of musicians, filmmakers, and designers. She is also the creator of the largest mural in Mexico, and the winner of prestigious prizes in Mexico and abroad. You never know, you might find something for your collection.
