Tulum Done Right
No visit to the Yucatán is complete without a tour of the Mayan ruins in Tulum. Set high upon a cliff, overlooking the ocean, the Templo de las Pinturas and the Castillo are iconic sites, impressive in their own right. Without a tour guide though, it’s hard to know exactly what you’re looking at.
What better way to learn about the significance of these ruins than with an archeologist as a guide. This tour will teach you the Mayan history of the region from the 13th century onwards. Even better, it starts early, getting you there before the crowds. Stick around after you’re done and enjoy the town. Hail a cab, enjoy a drink at Gitano, take in the horizon at golden hour, then head back home.
