The Ultimate Block Party
Randolph is an incredible street any time of year but this year, June 14th to 16th, is extra special. Taste of Randolph, the most Chicagoan of festivals, is a three-day food-focused block party. Proceeds are passed onto the West Loop Community Organization but, most importantly, the music and food line-up are both stellar.
Sixteen local restaurants will be serving up snacks, but don’t skip the Korean barbecue tacos from BellyQ. You can’t go wrong with any of the Italian sandwiches from Nonna’s, from the Mona Lisa, a mozzarella and roasted vegetable concoction finished with a pesto aioli, to their classic porchetta. If you’ve any room left, try the frozen kefir from Starfruit, for a tart and healthy twist on frozen yogurt.
The festival promises Friday night’s best party, headlined by synth pop duo Holy Ghost! with turntable virtuosos RAC taking over the decks late. Indie rockers Real Estate head the line up on Sunday, all of which contributes to one of the best street fairs of the season.
