After an Instagram-flooding run in San Francisco, The Color Factory lands in NYC for a limited time. Celebrating the simple joy of color, this interactive exhibition encourages you to put your phone down and get creative. Artist Christine Wong Yap’s installation invites you to draw the person opposite you while Secret Colors by Molly Young will lead you along a flowchart of cryptic, color-based questions—“sunrise or sunset?”—which results in a color-based personality diagnostic. Other artists featured include cartoonist Roz Chast and illustrator Jon Burgerman.
For more simple pleasures, there’s a giant ball pit for adults, macarons in lucid and unexpected shades, and a lot of neat lines and mood lighting guaranteed to soothe anyone’s OCD. Every installation has a built-in photo booth so you can enjoy your time without staring at a screen and pose with your friends.
