One To Remember
If you’re going to go to any beer festival in the late summer, make it Seattle’s largest beer fest. Incidentally, Fremont Oktoberfest is also hailed as one of the best places to celebrate Oktoberfest in the world, quite a feat considering how far it is from Germany.
Don’t ask why Oktoberfest is happening on the third weekend of September—just go with the flow. From September 20th to 22nd, 50 breweries will pour mini-mug samples of over 100 different beers. They’ll also pour you a liter-size boot of beer if you so choose.
Part of what distinguishes Fremont from its competitors is the entertainment: Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving on Friday then axe throwing and a traditional Bavarian strength tournament called stein holding through the weekend. As well as burning off all those calories, you might pick up a new hobby.
