A Nature Trail with Art
A 55-acre estate with uninterrupted views of nature, Cheekwood Gardens offers wooded trails and a gorgeous backdrop for works of art and sculpture. The gardens come alive in the fall as the leaves change color and the chrysanthemums bloom.
Along with a giant pumpkin patch, Cheekwood host a series of seasonal events, including a canine Halloween costume parade and Thursday night drinks. This is a wonderful opportunity to see some serious art as well as appreciate nature: Cheekwood’s artist-in-residence this year is David Brooks, whose work has been displayed at leading institutions all over the country, including New York’s MoMA PS1 and Storm King. Currently on view is Umwelts 2019 (As the Crow Flies).
