A Sparkling Festival
Home of the famous Chihuly Garden and Glass and the Pilchuk Glass School, Seattle is a hub for glass art. Refract festival celebrates this tradition with events all over the city and surrounding islands, illuminating the glass art tradition of Washington State and beyond through series of live events, art sales, parties, and exhibitions.
Highlights include the open studios of twelve top glass artists working in the city, including the Glasshouse Studio, the oldest studio of its kind in Seattle. Exhibitions include the Benaroya collection at Tacoma Art Museum, considered one of the most prestigious collections of its kind in the world. Held at the new Pike Place Marketfront Glass Pavillion, it’s keeping in theme, has spectacular views of the Puget Sound, and couldn’t be more convenient to us.
We’re celebrating all month long with our Thompson Seattle x Refract package which provides discounted accommodations, Glass Art–inspired cocktails and desserts, plus tickets the Seattle Art Museum. You’ll be an expert in lampworked glass, blown glass, and the tradition of reticello before the month’s up.
