A one-of-a-kind sterling silver table lighter in the shape of a World War I-era hand grenade made by famed British silversmiths Mappin & Webb is being offered for sale by London’s Pullman Gallery. The unique object was presented to Brigadier General Sir C. W. King by members of his staff in 1918, and comes complete with a detachable ring and folding clip just like the real thing. Measuring 4 inches tall and bearing an engraved dedication, it’s impressively priced at £9,500 or about $14,500. Of course you never have to worry about one of your pals pulling out one just like it.
