Drama is eyewear designer Barton Perreira’s new cinematic shades.
Califronia-based eyewear designers Barton Perreira have come out with an optical homage to famed filmmaker Albert Maysles, director of Grey Gardens and Gimme Shelter: The Albert Maysles Collection. In addition to the classic black frames favored by the venerable helmsman whom Jean-Luc Godard once called “the best American cameraman,” the handmade, limited-edition collection–designed exclusively for Barneys–now includes a version in nautical red, inspired by the amber sail on Albert’s childhood boat in Massachusetts. Available as both reading glasses ($365) and sunglasses ($350), they might not make you an ace lens-man, but you might just see the world through Albert’s eyes.
