Brooklyn Gets Lit

Put this on your tweed-jacket calendar (and wolf-whistle at Sloane Crosley).

Because our current state of affairs isn’t very humorous, really (but for watching Charlie Rangel dance on his b-day), we suggest checking out the Brooklyn Book Festival, if you don’t live in L.A., that is, on Sunday, September 12, where they’ll be a panel of cut-up authors (Kurt Vonnegut was funny…), riffing about “Finding the Funny: The Humor of the Everyday.” You know, like your free-lance check not being in the mailbox yet again! Come see humorist John Hodgman (“Areas of My Expertise”), Kristen Schaal and Rich Blomquist (“The Sexy Book of Sexy Sex”), and the shiny-haired, sly-eyed Ms. Crosley, whose second smash collection of essays, “How Did You Get This Number,” is funny alone, just on account of the bear on the book jacket. (What? No stiletto?) For more info, yo, go to: www.brooklynbookfestival.org
