Michelin Guide Hitting Chi-Town

Windy City chefs, this is your wake-up call.
The famed Michelin Guide to the world’s best restaurants has announced plans to publish a 2011 Chicago edition come November, a big boost to the underrated culinary scene in the city that’s home to Thompson’s Sax Chicago. The move comes five years after the Euro guide entered the U.S. market with an NYC edition. A San Francisco version followed, while plans for a Los Angeles guide are currently on hold. A crack 10-person squad of gourmets has been secretly making the rounds of Chicago’s best restaurants for the past two years in preparation, Michelin revealed; some 300 eateries will be included, and speculation over how many coveted Michelin stars will be awarded to the Windy City is already running rampant. Of course.
