The French GAP is coming to the Village. Oui, oui!
Frankly, we were worried. A.P.C.-the go-to boutique for men and women stylistas looking for neat, slimming basics-seemed to be vanishing in Manhattan, with store closings and “consolidations.” Now we hear that the makers of men’s perfect work suits (see “Reservoir Dogs”) are opening a new location on Perry Street, by Bleecker. And that means we can finally buy a pair of those button-fly, dark-wash, low-riding denims that people like Robert Downey live for. Poor guy, the Robertson location, by the Ivy, in Beverly Hills, closed as well. Note: This reporter purchased him a pair to wear when he got out of prison back when. But does he remember…at all?
