The old New York Times building and newsroom takes a new lane.
This is rather insane: Watch for the opening this month of a new bowling complex-with two bars, at least one restaurant and retailers too-inside The New York Times’ old editorial offices on West 43rd Street. Bowlmor has been working up the 90,000 square feet of space to hold 50 lanes. The project’s estimated cost is $20 million. Perhaps this will get some of the Times Square pedestrian traffic inside and off the streets, doing something that is actually recreational, and not just gawking, hypnotized by flashing big advertising screens.
