East Hollywood gets a dose of serious cocktails and industrial chic.
For the past five years, downtown Los Angeles has ruled the “craft cocktail” turf. It’s nice to see Harvard & Stone spreading the love over to East Hollywood’s Griffith Park zone, chugging along since March, sans pretention. The space alone is reason to go: 3,500 square feet spread over two levels, featuring a factory motif rife with architectural selvedge details. Whiskeys from American distilleries are the focus, but not the mandate. The crowd is good-looking and local. The place-owned by the folk who made rum bar La Descarga a hot spot-opens nightly at 8pm. It’s worth checking out with a few sophisticated-leaning friends.
