New Year’s Resolutions?

Eating better must be one. ‘Clean Plates’ guides are a fine dining start.

“For vegetarians and carnivores,” the 2012 edition of “Clean Plates” guides act as the healthy-man’s version of Zagat’s. The sharp-looking books fit inside a jacket pocket and provide locavores a destination roundup for sustainable restaurants, from Brooklyn to Los Angeles. Each booklet has about 100 eating-out spots, and include helpful nutritional tidbits. The selects are provided by author Jared Koch, a nutritional consultant, and Alex Van Buren, a former food critic for Time Out New York. They’re available at: cleanplates.com and on Amazon.
