Like his Parks and Recreation castmate Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari has carved his own upward path from the indie stages of New York City. In Ansari’s case, his Upright Citizens Brigade Theater sketch group Human Giant landed a television deal, and before you could say “Shutterbugs” they were MTV darlings. Ansari has continued to work the road, playing theaters and hipster festivals like Bonnaroo, before fully winning our hearts as Tom Haverford.
