If you leave the Governor’s Ball (or opt out altogether), we recommend a visit to Tropfest, a short-film festival hosted by Hugh Jackman — it’s also a heck of a lot easier on the wallet than the Gov Ball. DJs and musicians like Alexi Murdoch and Doveman bring the party, starting at 3pm and running until the Tropfest screening and competition begins at 8pm. A panel of celebs are responsible for choosing the best American short films — Toni Collette chaired the Vegas Tropfest jury, so expect some more starpower.
