Week Six: London Belgraves

Summer in London: let’s be honest, you never know what you’re going to get. It’s been a wet one this year, but we’re going to help you heat things up with our take on the best way to spend a day in Central London.

It’s no secret, we’re rubbish in the morning without our coffee, and there’s a lot planned for today so we’re starting the day out on the right foot with breakfast from Hix Belgravia. Choosing is the hard part, but this morning we’re going with a masala omelette, coffee and we’re sharing granola with mango passion fruit with Neal’s Yard Dairy Yogurt. Oh so delicious.

Once we’re fully sated, it’s off to Hyde Park for a scenic horseback ride. What better way to enjoy Mother Nature than on a trusty steed? Next? A dip in the Serpentine Lido pool of course. A favourite spot of ours, it’s one of the oldest swimming clubs in Britain. We love it most for the waterside tables; an ideal place to soak up the sun and enjoy a glass of wine.

We’ve done our due exercise so now it’s time to get a little naughty. We’re heading back to Belgraves for an afternoon cocktail at Mark’s Bar. It’s a Hix Fix for us; a house specialty of Morello cherries in Somerset Eau de Vie with Prosecco. We admit – we’re also partial to the occasional cigar, so let’s take a seat in the intimate Cigarden with a Hoyo De Monterrey Petit Robusto.

We’re a few sheets to the wind; it’s back to our Studio Suite to recharge for the night ahead. Straight for the marble Japanese bathtub we go,for a soak surrounded by bay windows. We gaze out at the lush views while spoiling ourselves with the sweet scents of the in-room REN products. We’re calling it a night, but not before diving into the oversized Sferra robe waiting for us in our wardrobe. Does life get better than this?
