The FIDM Museum & Galleries at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is opening a new costume exhibit, “The Outstanding Art of Television Costume Design.” Presented in conjunction with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, this annual exhibition celebrates the work of this year’s Primetime Emmy-Nominated Costume Designers and Costume Supervisors. Curated by famed Costume Designer Mary Rose, President of the Costume Designers Guild, the show displays over 75 costumes from TV shows and miniseries that have been heralded for their fashion sense. See the Edwardian splendor so breathtakingly displayed on Downton Abbey, the early-60s glamour of Pan Am and Magic City, the peacocking of the Prohibition era as seen on Boardwalk Empire, the medieval clothing worn on Game of Thrones, and much, much more. This must-see salute to style will be on display through October 10.
